AJCommittee Urges 'Buy Israeli' The American Jewish Committee has launched a Made in Israel campaign, designed to urge Americans to buy Israeli products to strengthen the Israeli economy. A comprehensive catalogue of Israeli products, ranging from wines to gourmet food to designer jewelry, is available at www.ajc,org The four components of the Made in Israel campaign are: encouraging American consumers and businesses to buy Israeli products; urging those who regularly purchase such goods to tell their friends and coworkers to also buy Israeli; asking local stores to stock Israeli-made products; keeping a data- base of vendors of quality Israeli-made products up-to-date and accessible. AJCommitee offices around the world are purchasing Israeli products whenever possible. The Detroit chapter started this campaign with its coordination of last summer's Ben Yehudah Israeli Shopping Expo, co-chaired by Susan and Robert Rollinger of Farmington Hills and co-sponsored by the Jewish Community Center in Oak Park.
