JEAN SHERMAN, 76, formerly of Oak Park of Denver, Colo., died Feb. 3, 2003. She was a bookkeeper for Stylish Garment, Kaufman & Broad Homes and Albert Sheets Candy. Mrs. Sherman was an avid duplicate bridge player and was a gold life master of the American Contract Bridge League. She was also a past president of the Morganthau Chapter of B'nai B'rith. Arrangements by Shalom Funeral serv- ice. GEORGE STEINBERGER, 88, of Farmington Hills, died Feb. 5, 2003. Born in Budapest, Hungary, he came to the United States when he was 9. After receiving his law degree from the University of Detroit, he became an agent for the Franklin Life Insurance Co. and was with them for 27 years. He qualified for the industry's Million Dollar Round Table for 54 years consecutively. For many years, Mr. Steinberger taught CLU and LUTC classes. Mr. Steinberger wrote articles on life insurance for national publications and his book, If You Don't Mind My Asking, recently had its sixth reprinting and was George translated into Steinberger Chinese. He was the Life Association News Author of the Year in 1962. The community benefited from Mr. Steinberger's active involvement. He was a past member of the board of directors of the Capuchin Charity Guild as well as a past president of his B'nai B'rith lodge. For many years, he was a fund-raiser for the Police Athletic League, City of Hope and MDRT Foundation. In 1992, he was the recip- ient of the Michigan Life Leaders Humanitarian of the Year Award. He was also an honorary member of the Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity. Mr. Steinberger is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Steinberger; daughter, Patricia Shaw of Chapel Hill, N.C.; granddaughter, Victoria Faucheux; great-grandchildren, Camille and Julien.
