JCC Welcomes
New Members

The Jewish Community Center of
Metropolitan Detroit is actively seek-
ing new members.
At both locations — West
Bloomfield and Oak Park — families
can enjoy sports, recreation, health,
fitness, holiday and cultural programs,
older adult activities, Jewish education
and family-oriented events.
The JCC in West Bloomfield is the
home of the InLine Hockey Center,
the Sarah and Irving Pitt Child
Development Center and the Milk &
Honey of West Bloomfield full-service
restaurant.
Corning in spring will be an 18,000-
square-foot fitness center.
Those who join the JCC will receive
savings on classes, programs, summer
day camp and early childhood educa-
tion as well as receive the JCC's news-
magazine, Centerline.
The membership drive runs through
Feb. 28. The $75 initiation fee will be
waived for those who join by then.
Prospective members who take a tour
of the facilities will be entitled to a
free five-day pass. Those who sign up
now will receive 2003 benefits at 2002
prices. Some restrictions apply.

Teaches Respect

The Anti-Defamation League-Michigan
Regional Office offers looks at diversity
awareness through its internationally
recognized A World of Difference
Institute.
Customized for audiences that include
kindergarten through 12th grade class-
rooms, community groups and busi-
nesses, the program teaches lessons that
promote inter-group communication
and understanding.
Training can be one-half day up to
five days in length. It consists of anti-
bias workshops, where participants are
provided with knowledge and strate-
gies to address diversity-related issues
and to promote a prejudice free,
inclusive environment.
