SAJE Courses
Relate To Israel

History, language, prospects for peace
and politics will be among the courses
about Israel to be offered by SAJE,
Seminars for Adult Jewish Enrichment,
which will run Tuesdays, Wednesdays
and Thursdays, Feb. 11-March 13.
SAJE courses will be held at both JCC
locations and at the Jewish Federation of
Metropolitan Detroit, 6735 Telegraph,
Bloomfield Township. The four-week
sessions cover a variety of topics relating
to Jewish life. SAJE is open to all adults
who wish to enhance their Jewish
knowledge. Courses will be taught by
local rabbis, cantors, educators, scholars
and community leaders representing the
entire range of Jewish observance.
SAJE classes are $25 each or $40 for
unlimited classes. Those who purchase a
ticket to the kickoff event before Feb. 5
will receive a $5 credit toward their
SAJE 2003 unlimited class registration.
Tickets are available for a special SAJE
kickoff event, the Fourth Annual
Shiffinan Family Lecture, featuring
Jewish educator Rabbi Daniel Gordis,
7:30 p.m. Feb. 5, at the West
Bloomfield JCC. Admission to the
Gordis lecture is $5. The kickoff pro-
gram is sponsored by the Anti-
Defamation League, Jewish Family
Service, Jewish Federation's Community
Outreach and Education Department,
Federation's Alliince for Jewish
Education, Sophie Pearlstein and the
Morris and Beverly Baker Foundation.
SAJE is sponsored by the JCC, Jewish
Federation, Detroit Jewish News, Agency
for Jewish Education and Federation's
Alliance for Jewish Education. It is
endowed by Cis Maisel Kellman.
