0. ail OBITS from page 108 RACHEL M. "RAE" ADELMAN, 88, for- mer Detroiter of Ventura, Calif., died Jan. 20, 2003. She was an educator for 25 years, having graduated from Wayne State University with a master's degree in educa- tion. She taught at Children's Orthogenic School in Detroit and then became a mem- ber of the education faculty at Oakland University in Rochester. She retired in 1982 and moved to Ventura. Mrs. Adelman was an active member of Temple Beth Torah in Ventura, the National Council of Jewish Women, the local chapter of Friends of Brandeis University, Ventura Friends of the Library and the Rubicon Theatre Children's Education Program. She is survived by her son and daughter- in-law, Martin J. Adelman and Dr. Susan Adelman of Southfield; brother and sister- in-law, Joseph and Trudy Bale of Ventura. She was the wife of the late Oscar Adelman; mother of the late Philip Adelman and Robert Bruce Adelman; sister of the late Samuel Bale. Services were held at Temple Beth Torah in Ventura. Dorfman's "Tree of Life" DAN MARTIN BERGER, 46, formerly of Huntington Woods of Great Barrington, Mass., died Jan. 12, 2003. He graduated from Dondero High School in Royal Oak, where he played drums in the band and orchestra. He was a great fan of the U-M Wolverines. In 1981, Mr. Berger joined Triform, a Rudolph Steiner community in Hudson, N.Y., where he worked in the dairy and on the organic farm. He is survived by his companion and caregiver, Sylvie Busser; mother, Nikki Van Dine of Huntington Woods; sister, Juliet Berger Huizenga of Ann Arbor. He was the son of the late Sam Berger.
