To Have Night Out

The Greater Detroit Chapter of
Hadassah and the Michigan Jewish
AIDS Coalition will present "Getting
Our Adolescents to Learn About
Sexuality," a mother and daughter night
out for high school girls and their
mothers/mentors. The program will be
5:30-7:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 2, at
Hadassah House, 5030 Orchard lake
Road, West Bloomfield.
The charge is S5 per person; pizza
and salad will be served. The program
will be led by trained facilitators of
MJAC and will provide an opportunity
to discuss issues affecting self-esteem,

Kaballah, Ethics

The Institute of Kaballa and Judaism
will host a two-evening series in a pri-
vate home in Oak Park. The courses
will be taught by Rabbi Herschel
Finman. There is a charge.
The first of the 10-week courses is
"Kaballa For Everyone" and will focus
on introducing basic concepts with
practical application. The second
course is "Judaism and the Modern

Open House

Yeshivat Akiva will host an interactive
open house for grades pre-nursery
through high school 1-3 p.m. Sunday,
Jan. 26. The program will feature
model classes and projects from every
grade, secular and Judaic.
Akiva is a college preparatory, dual
curriculum pre-nursery through 12th
grade Zionist day school at 21100 W. 12
Mile Road, east of Lahser, in Southfield.
Its expanded early childhood center
offers half and full-day programming for
children age 2-pre-kindergarten. Art,
