The Museum of New Art
(MONA) presents the second annual

Detroit International Video Fest,
featuring 250 videos from 32 coun-
tries, through Feb. 22..
Selections include Pale-Judea,
directed by Constantino Ciervo
(Italy/Germany), an emotional
Palestinian-Israeli debate delivered in
German, and A Blow, from Israeli
filmmaker Skuka Glotman, which
starts in a forest and follows a tree as
it goes from workshop lathe to
become a club, ending up in the
hands of Israeli army patrols.

Other troupes showcasing new
works are Planet Ant, Chimera Theatre
Company, Prop Thtr Group and
Backstage Theatre Company. Themes
cover dance legends, gender roles,
independence, dreams and invention.
"The festival provides a far-reaching
and diverse voice in the public critiques
