Bar/Bat Mitzvah

Temple Israel. He is the brother of
Reisa and David and the grandchild
of Rhoda and Marshall Tobin,
Maurice Shanaman and the late Berry
Shanaman.
Baratt is a student at Warner
Middle School in Farmington Hills.
His hobbies include photography,
working with computers, swimming,
scuba diving and basketball. During a
Temple Israel Shabbaton, ,he partici-
pated in making a patch for a quilt,
which was sent to a school in Israel.
He also enjoyed serving dinner to the
homeless as well as being the official
cotton candy man at all of the Denby
Orphanage parties.

Zachariah Levy

the son of Tamar
Levy-Walker, brother
of Molly and grand-

Zack is a student at Congregation
Beth Shalom religious school and
Anderson Middle School in Berkley,
where he plays cornet in the seventh-
grade band. In addition to many aca-
demic interests, Zack especially enjoys
swimming, basketball and caring for
animals. He lives for summers at
Habonim Dror Camp Tavor in Three
Rivers, Mich.

Max Weberman will be
called to the Torah as a
bar mitzvah on
Saturday, Jan. 18, at
Temple Beth El. He is
the son of Jane and
Edward Weberman and
brother of Nathan,
Danny and Alex. Max's
proud grandmother is Freda Weberman.
He is also the grandson of the late Leon
Weberman, the late Mary Monarch and
the late Edward Monarch.
Max is an honor student at Walled
Lake Middle School, where he plays
saxophone in the band and is a mem-
ber of the school soccer team. He is
also an accomplished classical pianist,
plays travel baseball for the Southfield
Phillies and enjoys downhill skiing
and in-line skating. His mitzvah proj-
ects included volunteering at the
Fame Games and as a teacher's assis-
tant at Temple Beth El.
