Steven Dworken, Rabbinic Leader New York/JTA — Rabbi Steven Dworken, 58, executive vice president of the Rabbinical Council of America, an Orthodox rabbinical organization, died Jan. 13, 2003, of a heart attack. "He was a rabbi's rabbi," said Rabbi Tzvi Hersh Weinreb, executive vice pres- ident of the Orthodox Union, the con- gregational arm of modern Orthodoxy. "Hundreds of rabbis looked to him for advice. He believed in the American rabbi, and his cause was helping rabbis do their jobs." Rabbi Dworken is survived by his wife, Susan, two daughters, a son and several grandchildren.
