Arrangements by Ira Kaufman Chapel. LARRY L. GUTTENBERG, 83, of BirMingham, died Jan. 6, 2003. He was a graduate of Northern High School and Detroit Technical College with a degree in account- ing. In 1941, he enlisted in the army and served in World War II in the European and Pacif- ic theaters. After the war, he was associated with Larry Michigan Mortgage Guttenberg in Detroit and later established his own company, Republic Mortgage Corp. in Southfield. He also served as pres- ident of the Michigan Mortgage Bankers Association. Following his retirement from Republic Mortgage, he remained active through his association with Progressive Mortgage and later General Mortgage. Mr. Guttenberg was an active member of the former Ahavas Achim Synagogue. He was also an active in Detroit politics, raising money for Democratic candidates, running in the 1961 primary for a seat on the Detroit Common Council and working with the Trade Union Leadership Council. Mr. Guttenberg is survived by his wife, Dorothy Guttenberg; son and daughter-in-law, Arnold and Maria Guttenberg of Cherry Creek, Colo.; daughter and son-in-law, Felicia and Saul Kalbfeld of West Bloomfield, grandchildren, Rachel Guttenberg, David Guttenberg, Ilana Guttenberg, Courtney Kalbfeld and fiance, Jeremy, Jonathan Kalbfeld and fiancee, Candace.
