Bar/Bat Mitzvah

Gilson. Her late grandfathers are
Herman Sussman and Russell
Gilson.
Attending Berkshire Middle
School in Birmingham, where she is
an honor student, Rachel likes act-
ing, singing, dancing and gymnas-
tics. She felt the most special of her
mitzvah projects was helping at the
Denby Center Orphanage during its
Halloween party.

mitzvah at Temple
Israel Saturday,
Jan. 11. He is the
brother of
Mitchell, Daniel
and Eric. His
proud grandpar-
ents are Marilyn and Dr. Allen
Weiss, Eunice and Milton Ring and
Harry Korman.
A student at West Hills Middle

School in Bloomfield Hills, Bradley
has a variety of interests, including
basketball, in-line hockey, snow-
boarding, skateboarding, reading,
history and writing. He felt volun-
teering at Yad Ezra in Berkley to be
his most meaningful mitzvah proj-
ect.

his bar mitzvah
Friday, Jan. 10, at
Temple Israel. He
is the son of Iris
and Sheldon
Yellen. His brother
Brandon and
grandparents
Lillian and Sam
Fenton and Lenore
Yellen will share in
the simchah. He is also the grand-
child of the late Seymour Yellen.
Jordan is an honor student at West
Hills Middle School in Bloomfield
Hills. His after-school activities
include hockey and tennis. His most
meaningful mitzvah project was vol-
unteering at Yad Ezra in Berkely.

engagement of their
daughter Stacey Brooke to Steven
Mark Gursten, son of Sharon and
Larry Gursten of West Bloomfield.
Stacey is a graduate of Michigan
State University and earned her mas-
ter's degree in speech-language pathol-
ogy from Wayne State University. She
is a speech pathologist at Select
Specialty Hospital in Pontiac.
Steven is a graduate of University of
Michigan and earned his law degree at
Fordham University in Atlanta. He is
a partner in the law firm of Gursten,
Koltonow, Gursten, Christensen and
Raitt PC.
An April wedding is planned at the
Townsend Hotel in Birmingham.
