Scene BBYO Teens Compete Individuals and chapters vie for awards at Regional Convention. Some 382 BBYO members from metro Detroit and Windsor compet- ed for individual and chapter awards at the B'nai B'rith Youth Organization Regional Convention. Twenty AZA and BBG chapters vied in 29 categories. Regional Convention was held Dec. 22-26 at the Jewish Community Center in West Bloomfield. Shapiro and Kishon AZA chapters tied for "Most Distinguished Chapter" and Achayot BBG won the title for a second year in a row. Kishon was first in talent show with its "Blues Brothers" routine and Achayot won talent show for a third consecutive year with a dance entry. Shapiro AZA and Genesis BBG won the "Most Improved Chapter" awards. Besides competitive events, BBYO teens participated in a com- munity service project, making stuffed bears for Israeli children injured in terrorist attacks, an initia- tive of the Michigan Chapter of the American Red Magen David for Israel.
