from 11 a.m. to noon. Second-
semester tuition for Hebrew classes is
$55 (B'nai Moshe members $36).
Sunday morning Judaica classes
will begin Jan. 12 with Cantor Earl
B. Berris from 10-11 a.m., "The
People's Choice: The Siddur (Jewish
Prayer-book) as Literature and
Spiritual Guide." Tuition is $35
(B'nai Moshe members $25).
Beginning March 9, Rabbi Elliot
Pachter will teach a four-part series
titled "Swimming in the Sea of
Talmud: Lessons for Everyday
Living." Tuition for the latter series
is $28 (B'nai Moshe members $20).
Special combination tuition for reg-
istering now for both the cantor's
and rabbi's series is $55 (B'nai
Moshe members $36).
Two one-time adult learning
events will be offered during January,
free of charge with no reservations
required.
On Sunday, Jan. 12, from 9-10
a.m., the B'nai Moshe Sisterhood
will present "Shacharit: A Learning
Service for Women," led by B'nai
Moshe members Cindy Friedman
and Sharlene Ungar.
On Sunday, Jan. 26, at 8:30 a.m.,
the synagogue men's club will host
the Third Annual World Wide Wrap,
featuring instruction in fulfilling the
mitzvah of tefillin, followed by min-
yan at 9 a.m., breakfast, contests and
prizes.

Congregation B'nai Moshe has
announced its schedule of winter-
spring semester adult Jewish educa-
tion opportunities.
The synagogue's current guest
scholar series, "The Power of Seven,"
which meets on the first Monday
night of every month, will continue
7:30-9 p.m. Monday, Jan. 6, with a
session on "The Jews of Britain" fea-
turing University of Michigan histo-
ry professor Todd Endelman. Tuition
is $10 (members of B'nai Moshe,
$8). Pre-registration is encouraged
but not required. Walk-ins are wel-
come.
Upcoming "Power of Seven"
dates, speakers and topics are: Feb. 3,
Michael Weiss on "Breaking the
Bible Codes"; March 3, Aviva
Silverman on "From Biblical Canaan
to Persia: How the Family Dynamic
Evolved"; April 7, Rabbi Lee
Buckman on "Insights for the
Passover Seder." Tuition is $10 per
session (B'nai Moshe members $8).
B'nai Moshe is also offering week-
ly classes for adults: "Torah Portion
of the Week" every Shabbat morning
from 10-10:45 a.m. with Barry V.
Levine in the synagogue office con-
ference room. Study materials are
provided. This group will begin its
second semester Jan. 11.
Sunday morning Adult Hebrew
classes will resume Jan. 12. Advanced
Hebrew Text & Grammar will be
taught by Dr. Edward M. Golenberg,
10-11 a.m. Intermediate Hebrew
Grammar & Conversation, also

B'nai B'rith Hosts
Mission To Cuba

Rabbi Yeruchim Olshin, rosh yeshivah
of Beth Medrash Govoha in Lakewood,
N.J., will be honored at a special recep-
tion 8:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 6, at
15041 Burton in Oak Park, hosted by
Mrs. Sol Nusbaum, Rabbi and Mrs.
Dov Loketch and Rabbi and Mrs.
Joseph Nusbaum.
Beth Medrash Govoha, the largest
Kollel of advanced talmudic studies, is
located in Lakewood and was founded
in 1943 by Rabbi Aaron Kotler. The
local Kollel in Oak Park was founded by
Beth Medrash Govoha.
Reuven Meer chairs the reception
committee; Rabbi Elazar Meisels will be
master of ceremonies.

B'nai B'rith Great Lakes Region,
through the Center for Public
Policy, will host a cultural mission
to Cuba Feb. 11-19.
The cost per person is $2,575,
which includes a $500 tax-
deductible donation to B'nai B'rith's
project for the Cuban Jewish com-
munity.
