died Dec. 29, 2002. He was a social worker.
Mr. Helfer is survived by his father, Harold
Helfer of Farmington Hills; sister and broth-
er-in-law, Joan and Fred LaBelle of West
Bloomfield; nephews and niece, Randy and
Lisa LaBelle and their sons, Julian and Adam
LaBelle. He was the beloved son of the late
Fay Helfer; uncle of the late Jodi LaBelle.
Interment at Machpelah Cemetery.

HENRY "HERB" KATZ former Detroiter
of Bradenton, Fla., died Dec. 19, 2002. He
was vice president of the Louis Spero Co. and
Wisconsin Toy Co. He was later involved in
real estate for outlet malls.
Mr. Katz was a graduate of Michigan State
University and a member of Zeta Beta Tau
fraternity. He volunteered at Sarasota
Memorial Hospital and was an army veteran
of World War II, having served in Italy for
three years.
Mr. Katz is survived by his wife of 49
years, Shirlee (Jacobs); daughters, Jodi Clare
and Lisa, both of Scottsdale, Ariz.; sons,
Todd of Ashland, Mass., Dr. Richard of
Tarpon Springs, Fla.; six grandchildren; sister,
Estelle Rosen of West Bloomfield; sisters-in-
law and brothers-in-law, Dr. Albert and
Nancy Korby, Dr. Milton and Carolyn
Jacobs, all of West Bloomfield.
Graveside services were held in Sarasota.

ISADORE LEVIN former Detroiter of
Coral Springs Fla.
He is survived by his brother, Harry Levin;
niece, Marda Levin; nephews, Jerry Levin
and Steve Levin. He was the beloved brother
of the late Ruth Singer, and her family, Mirl
and Gene Zager, Thea Singer and husband,
Dave Grey.
Bloomfield, died Dec. 28, 2002. She was an
attorney who graduated from the Detroit
College of Law. She was also a member of
Temple Israel.
Ms. Oppenheim is survived by her daugh-
ter, Dr. Tracey Oppenheim of West
Bloomfield and her partner, Dr. Iva Smolens;
mother, Estelle Makrover of West
Bloomfield; sister and brother-in-law, Ronda
and Dr. Gerald Kushner of California. She
was the dear sister of the late Eileen
Oppenheim; loving daughter of the late Hy
Makrover.
Interment at Clover Hill Park Cemetery.
