ies ... Torn is well known from the
Town Center restaurant years ... when
he was one-third of the operating trio
with brother Dino and brother-in-law

You won't find many Coney Island
restaurants now that serve all-beef hot
dogs ... And not any that I know of
with loose ground turkey also available
for its Coneys ... or sandwiches with
only the ground meat.
Can't think of another Coney Island
... or even another type of eatery ...

stayed another few weeks, Seifu
Lessanework returned from travel to
his native Ethiopia to be at the wed-
ding reception of Leigh Juricka and
Matthew Jacobson.
It was at his Blue Nile restaurant on
West 9 Mile Road in Ferndale ... with
150 guests enjoying the live band,
hypnotist ... and, of course, its excel-
lent authentic Ethiopian fare.
The full shot was for everyone ... all-
you-can-eat Ethiopian Feast or
Vegetable Feast ... both served on the
spongy inerja bread ... with more deli-
cious inerja brought by the efficient
and courteous waitresses.
Seifu's Ethiopian visit included the
Jewish village of Gondara where he
spent three days ... Seifu was with a
U.S. Trade delegation, touring a land
in which Americans make investments.
After his work was over, Seifu, an
Ethiopian Jew, remained to gather new
recipes now added to his menu at Blue
Nile ... but not forgetting the promise
he had made to Harriet and Mike
Jacobson, bridegroom Matt's parents.
KIDDY KORNER ... The love for
teachers by youngsters is precious ...
But usually must come second when
it's between them and home.
Not in the case of 8-year-old Max
Olive, son of Debbie Olive.
At the recent holiday party of
Hillside Elementary in Farmington
Hills, his third-grade teacher, Linda
Weh, told her students they could go
home early with their parents ... most
of whom attended the party ... rather
than back to class.
