She was a vice president of Congregation Shaarey Zedek's Sisterhood, co-producer of produc- tion commemorating the 100th anniversary of the synagogue, was instrumental in preparation of their consecration service. She was a past group president of Hadassah and in 1977 was honored-as Woman of the Year. In 1967, Mrs. Parzen was fea- tured in the Detroit News article "Passover and the Jewish Woman-a guide for Holiday Observance and Preparation." She was also a recipient of the State of Israel Jerusalem City of Peace Award and was active with the Jewish Community Center Book Fair Committee, Torch Drive and the March of Dimes. Mrs. Parzen is survived by her daughter, Barbara Parzen; son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Susan Parzen of Huntington Woods; grand- children, David, Rebecca and Amanda Parzen; sister and brother- in-law, Reva and Abraham .Gornbein of Troy. She was the beloved wife of the late George Parzen; dear sister of the late Dr. Harry Stern. Interment at Clover Hill Park Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Congregation Shaarey Zedek. Arrangements by Ira Kaufman Chapel. SHIRLEY PEISNER, 78, of Bloomfield Township, died Dec. 16, 2002. She was a real estate agent for Prudential Realty. She was also a life long member of Hadassah and member of the ,Tialilah Study 'Ilroup and a a -ember of the Y1fomads. Mrs. Peisner is survived by her husband, Dan Peisner; son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan and Shirley Peisner Cheryl Peisner of West Bloomfield; grandchildren, Ryan, Lindsay and Seth; sister and brother-in-law, Elaine and Bob Spiro of Oak Park. LEONARD DAVID ROSENBLAT, 66, of Livonia, died Dec. 15, 2002. He was a pioneer in the building industry in metropolitan Detroit. He was president and owner of Arnell Building Company, with a 40-year history in the industry. Mr. Rosenblat was the cover story for the September 1990 issue of Building and Business Management. He was also very active in numerous chari- table foundations within the Detroit commu- nities, including the Meals on Wheels program, and the B'nai B'rith Great Leonard Rosenblat American Traditions Award Board. His passions also included sports. Growing up in Detroit, he played baseball on city sandlots and later bowled in recreation leagues. In his later years he developed a passion for golf. Mr. Rosenblat is survived by his beloved wife, Rose; son and daugh- ter-in-law, Bruce and Jacqueline Rosenblat of Wolverine Lake; daugh- ter, Susan Rosenblat of Valencia, Calif.; grandchildren, Ashley, Alexa and Aubrey. Interment at the Temple Israel Gardens of Beth El Cemetery. ROSENTHAL, 81, of West Bloomfield, died Dec. 11, 2002. She was a past officer of Congregation B'nai Israel and a member of its sisterhood.
