music director for the Sunday school
until 1981. Mrs. Jacobstein was also
a music teacher with the Detroit
public schools for 40 years.
She is survived by her daughter
and son-in-law, Susan and Dr.
Robert Rosen of Solana Beach,
Calif.; grandchildren, Marc Rosen
and Eric Rosen. She was the beloved
wife of the late Meyer Jacobstein; sis-
ter of the late Paul Goldberg.
Graveside services were held at
Beth El Memorial Park Cemetery.

ROBERTA KANE, 84, of West
Bloomfield, died Dec. 6, 2002. She
was a lover of the arts and gave to
many charitable organizations.
Ms. Kane is survived by her son
and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Judy
Starr of Pittsburgh; daughter and
son-in-law, Sherry (Starr) and Bob
Sternberg of Calabasas, Calif.; grand-
children, Jason and Zachary Starr,
Nicole Giladi and Nina Schkloven;
companion, Michael Wainstock.
Funeral services were held at Mt.
Sinai Memorial Park in Los Angeles.

DAVID "DONNY" E. KATKIN,

66, of Ft. Lauderdale, formerly of
Detroit, died Dec. 16, 2002. He was
a member of Craftsman Lodge for
over 40 years.
Mr. Katkin is survived by his wife,
Marlene Katkin; sons and daughter-
in-law, Alan Katkin of Waterford,
Rob and Gayle Katkin of Wixom;
daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and
Paul Nagaitis of Ferndale; grandchil-
dren, Ashley, Josh, Cary and Mitchell
Katkin; mother, Doris "Doree"
Katkin. He was the beloved son of
the late Sam "Doc" Katkin.
