bimonthly Visit with homebound older
adults in Oak Park, Southfield or
Farmington Hills.
Mentor a Child — two-four hours week-
ly; one year commitment. Reach out to a
boy or girl who would benefit from a spe-
cial friendship with a caring adult. Offer
valuable companionship and support by
providing the young person with one-on-
one attention and guidance.
Hospice — Provide consolation and assis-
tance to terminally ill clients and their
families. Training will take place in Feb. for
those interested in volunteering to aid fam-
ilies who are receiving hospice services.
AGJAM (Advisory Group to Jewish
Agency Management) — flexible time
commitment. Qualified Jewish retirees
have been assembled into a volunteer corps
of executives and professionals whose mis-
sion is to provide pro-bono consultation
upon request to the Jewish Federation of
Metropolitan Detroit, its member agencies
or to other Jewish communal organiza-
tions, schools, synagogues, etc.
Administrative Volunteers — two-four
hours weekly. Assist clients over the phone
in resource and transportation offices. Not
all positions require computer skills.
Supportive Community — one-two
times yearly. Take a homebound individ-
ual to and from out-patient surgery, fix a
minor house problem, shovel snow or
trim bushes.
Courtesy Drivers — one-three hours
weekly. Provide transportation for clients
to doctor appointments, outpatient surger-
ies or to assist with errands.
