"We show tolerance, respect, a willingness to listen and a willing- ness to give in while defending indi- vidual ideas," says Kalichstein, mar- ried for 31 years to attorney Rowain Kalichstein and the father of two grown sons, one a banker and the other an actor. "Some people are made to last together, and some are not," he says. "We are glad we found the right people to be with." Kalichstein, who serves on the advisory boards of Jewish cultural organizations including the cantorial arm of Hebrew Union College, refuses administrative work that keeps him away from performing. He says he wants to enjoy the many aspects of his career as a soloist with leading orchestras, recitalist, chamber musician and teacher. "I first played chamber music just for fun," Kalichstein says. "I've been very lucky to keep all these hats over so many years." ❑ Za/ L sum • 1Coupon Per Couple' • Not Valid With other Offers • Expires 12/31/2002 I= mil NM I ■ Italian a CHOPHOUSE Catering For All Occasions Buy One Meal, Get 1/2 off the 2nd of equal or greater value.
