Rabbi Cohen is Keter Torah's first full-
time rabbi and Keter Torah is Rabbi
Cohen's first congregational post.
Born in London, the 38-year-old
rabbi had spent much of his rabbinic
career as an educator.
Most recently he held dual posi-
tions, teaching at both the Seattle
Kollel and the Northwest Yeshiva
High School in Seattle. Educated at
Gateshead Yeshiva, he received rab-
binic ordination in Jerusalem.
Also London-born, the rabbi's wife,
Devora, is a Sephardic Jew. Her father,
Dr. Nathan Lopes Cardozo, is a well-
known speaker on Judaism, Israel and
Sephardic heritage.
The Cohens live in West Bloomfield
with their children Tzipporah, 12;
Leah, 11; Tzivyah, 8; and Yaacov
Shlomo, 3.
In addition to his rabbinic duties at
Keter Torah, the rabbi is bringing his
teaching background . to the synagogue.
He will teach classes in Hebrew, basic
Judaism and advanced subjects.
"A synagogue should be a place
where one can come and learn," he
says.



Morning Services at Keter Torah
Synagogue are held at 9 a.m. on
Saturdays and Sundays, and 7 a.m.
Mondays and Thursdays.
Afternoon services are held 90
minutes before the end of Shabbat.
Classes currently being held:
Parshah of the Week at 7:30 p.m.
Wednesdays; Talmud at 8 p.m.
Thursdays. Classes are ongoing
and open to all.
A Crash Course in Hebrew
class will begin on Monday
evenings at the end of February.
