Our grand prize winner, Rena
Molnar, age 10, of West Bloomfield
will receive $100 for her winning
entry, which appears on the cover
of this Jewish News. Age-group
winners will receive $18: Joshua

M IO parents, Marcelle and Louis, and
her teachers.
The 10-year-old is a fifth-grader at
Pleasant Lake Elementary in the Walled
Lake school district. She didn't think she
turned in the best entry, even among her
classmates at Congregation Shir Tikvah
in Troy. But the Jewish News judges did.
Maybe it was Rena's juxtaposition of a
late fall season and an early Chanukah
that swayed us.
Rena has entered our annual art con-
test for a number of years, following in
the footsteps of her brother Andrew, 15.
"I just never thought I'd win," she said.
