The Chabad Jewish Center of
Commerce will host a Chanukah experi-
ence, including an olive press craft work-
shop, 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2, at the
Richardson Center, 626 Finch Court,
Walled Lake.
The workshop will show how olive
oil is made. Olives will be pitted,
squeezed in a hand press, strained and
spun in a centrifuge. All participants will
get a sample of oil to take home.
There will be songs, treats and
Chanukah crafts.

Rabbi Castiglione

Rabbi David Castiglione of Temple Beth
El will be the speaker at the Dec. 17
noon luncheon of the Beth Elders. His
topic will be "Sex in the Bible."
Cost for the event is $10 for Beth

B'nai Moshe Slates
Chanukah Learning

Bible scholar Eric Grossman will offer a
Chanukah-themed study session,
"Theology in 3-D: The Magic, Mystery,
and Menorah of the Ancient Temple,"
7:30-9 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2, at
Congregation B'nai Moshe.
Grossman is head of Bible studies at
the Jewish Academy of Metropolitan
Detroit.
M adult learners are welcome.
Tuition is $8 for members of B'nai
Moshe; $10 for others. There is no
charge for high-school students or
Jewish educators. No knowledge of
Hebrew is necessary. Advance reserva-
tions are not required.
The next speaker in B'nai Moshe's
monthly "Power of Seven" series will be
Professor Todd Endelman of the
Department of History at the University
of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
He will discuss "The Jews of Britain,"
the subject of his most recent book,
7:30-9 p.m. Monday, Jan. 6.
Tuition is the same as for the Dec. 2
