Bar/Bat Mitzvah

Jason Marc Berger will celebrate his
bar mitzvah on Saturday, Nov. 30, at
Temple Israel. He
is the son of
Donna and
Stewart Berger and
brother of
Rebecca. His
grandparents are
Lillian Berger, the
late John Berger
and the late Rose
and Harry
Silverman.
Jason is an honor student at
Warner Middle School in
Farmington Hills. He enjoys hockey,
tennis, water- and snow-skiing, sum-
mers at Tamarack Camps and watch-
ing college football. For his mitzvah
project, he volunteered at the Jewish
Special Olympics Fame Games.

Ethan Gottlieb will be called to the
Torah as a bar
mitzvah on
Saturday, Nov. 30,
at Congregation
Beth Shalom. He
is the son of
Lillian and David
Gottlieb of Oak
Park and the
grandson of Sarah
and Harold
Gottlieb of Birmingham. He is the
younger brother of Adam.
Ethan is an eighth-grade honor
student at Norup Middle School in
Oak Park. His interests include T'ai
Chi, soccer and bowling. For his
mitzvah project, Ethan participated
in many volunteer activities with the
residents of the Coville Apartments
in Southfield.

Brian Steven Kostukovsky will read
from the Torah on
the occasion of his
bar mitzvah
Saturday, Nov. 30,
at Temple Israel.
His parents are
Isabella and Mark
Kostukovsky and
his sister is Mila.
His proud. grand-
parents are Larisa
and Zinovy Soy-1)d and Mariya and
Leonid Kostukovsky.

Brian spends his free time swim-
ming, playing hockey and at the

Holocaust Memorial Center in West
Bloomfield was especially meaning-
ful to him as part of his mitzvah
project.

Maxx Joseph Lesnick will be called
to the Torah as a bar mitzvah on
Saturday, Nov. 30,
at Congregation
Beth Ahm. He is
the son of Shari
and Howard
Lesnick and broth-
er of Ben. Maxx's
grandparents are
Florence and
Arthur Chafets of
West Palm Beach,
Fla., Esther and Aaron Friedman of
Reseda, Calif., and Joan Anna
Lesnick of Irvine, Calif. He is also
the grandson of the late Julius
Lesnick.
Maxx is an honor student at
Walnut Creek Middle School in
Walled Lake, where he is on the soc-
cer and track teams. His other inter-
ests include skateboarding, aggressive
skating, music, creative writing and
spending summers at Tamarack
Camps. Most meaningful to Maxx
was his experience this past summer
as a volunteer camp counselor at
Congregation Beth Ahm's nursery
school day camp.

Brian Matthew Litt will be called to
the Torah as a bar mitzvah on
Saturday, Nov. 30,
at Temple Beth El.
He is the son of
Terri and Stuart
Litt and brother of
Aaron. Proud
grandparents are
Marion and Bernie
Litt.
Brian is a sev-
enth-grade student at Berkshire
Middle School in Birmingham,
where he plays on the football team.
He also enjoys basketball, computer
video games and listening to music.
For his mitzvah projects, he helped
set up classrooms for the
Meadowlake-Bingham Farms pre-
school. He also helped pass out
school supplies to Bingham Farms
Elementary School students.

Stephanie Nicole Parrish, daughter
of Robert Parrish and the late Gail
Parrish, will read from the Torah on
the occasion of her bat mitzvah
Friday, Nov. 29, at Temple Israel.
