DR. MAURICE CROLL, 95, of
Texas, died Nov. 24, 2002. He was
an ophthalmologist in Detroit and a
World War II flight surgeon.
. Dr. Croll is survived by his daugh-
ters and sons-in-law, Cathy and
Gary Heathcock of Texas, Linda and
Albert Connor of West Bloomfield;
grandchildren, Elizabeth Padoan,
Melinda, Christina, Jennifer and
Michael Heathcock. He was the
beloved husband of the late -Eva
May Croll.

BERNIE KOSS, 83, of Farmington

Hills, died Nov. 21, 2002. Prior to
retirement in 1982, he was the
owner of Koss Market on Hastings
Street in Detroit.
At age 44, Mr. Koss
enrolled in college
and graduated from
Detroit Institute of
Technology with a
bachelor's degree. He
was a World War II
U.S. Air Force
Bernie Koss
Medical Corps veter-
an, who was stationed
in London. He was a
member of the Jewish War Veterans
Silverman Post, a member of B'nai
B'rith Morganthau Lodge. Mr. Koss

adored sports and was a "living
sports encyclopedia."
Mr. Koss is survived by his wife,
Sylvia Koss; son and daughter-in-
law, Steven and Mary Koss of Oak
Park; daughter and son-in-law, Elyse
and Richard Jacobs of Bloomfield
Hills; grandchildren, Cathy and
Vincent Nicoletti, Joshua Koss,
•Nick, Megan and Tony Jacobs;
great-grandchildren, Joseph, Cara
and Jacob Nicoletti; sisters and
brother-in-law, Ruth Elson Berkley
of Southfield, Betty and D. Dan
Kahn of Bloomfield Hills.

Detroiter of North Miami Beach,
Fla., died Nov. 15„ 2002.
She is survived by her sons,
Michael (Mary) Cowan of South
Euclid, Ohio, Allan Cowan of
Charlotte, N.C.; daughters, Barbara
Lee Dennis of Pembrooke Pines,
Fla. Sandra Lesser of Montreal;
brother Richard (Myrle) Leland of
West Bloomfield; five grandchil-
dren; two great-grandchildren. She
was the sister of the late Sylvia
Bielous and the late Beatrice Leland.
Interment at Beth David
Cemetery in Hollywood, Fla.

IDA LEVY, 92, of West Bloomfield,

died Nov. 20, 2002. She was a store
manager for Morris Meats in
Detroit.
Ms. Levy is survived by her sister,
Rachel Eserow of California; nieces
and nephews. She was the beloved
wife of the late Morris Levy; loving
sister of the late Bertha Liberman,
the late Sam Harnick, the late
Nathan Flarnick and the late Dora
Posner.
Interment at Machpelah
Cemetery. Contributions may be
made to Hechtman Apartments,
6690 W. Maple, West Bloomfield,
MI 48322. Arrangements by Ira
