Hired By Federation

Stacey Crane has been hired by the
Jewish Federation of Metropolitan
Detroit as its new
endowment direc-
tor.
She will lead the
development of all
aspects of the
endowment pro-
gram. In addition,
she will coordinate
endowment
Stacey Crane
resources to pro-
vide direct support
for agency capital
campaigns.
Crane has been a practicing CPA
for 20 years and in 1995 won the
Sylvia Simon Greenberg Leadership
Award.

Gift Establishes
Israel Scholarship

Robert Stewart of Southfield
bestowed a $1 million millennium
gift to the Jewish Federation of
Metropolitan Detroit to establish a
college scholarship fund for Israeli
teens and post-army students in
need.
At the Oct. 17 meeting of the
combined boards of Federation and
reh United Jewish Foundation,
Stewart was recognized for his vision
and generosity in establishing the
Robert A. Stewart Endowed Israel
Scholarship Fund in honor of Joe
and Dorothy Stewart.
Stewart is president of Advance
Steel, a steel distribution company.
He has plans to be in Israel in the
near future to visit colleges and
potential scholarship recipients ..

Meer Apartments
To Fete Chanukah

The first Chanukah bazaar hosted
by the Meer Jewish Apartments will
be held 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday,
Nov. 24, at the apartments, 6760
W. Maple Road, West Bloomfield.
Vendors will sell clothes, purses,
crystal products, books, Judaic items
and jewelry. There will be hourly
raffles and fresh baked goods.
