Mr. Mirbach grew up in Pennsylvania and was salutatorian of his high school class. He earned his bache- lor of arts degree from Pennsylvania State College in Sate College, Pa. During World War II, Mr. Mirbach was a Nay Sea Bee sta- Leon Mirbach tioned in California. After college, he was a social worker in Pennsylvania and New York before moving to Detroit. In the early 1950s, he sold Cadillacs at GM's Factory Branch on Cass Avenue; later, he imported German autos, primarily Volkswagons, using his German lan- guage skills. In the early 1960s, Mr. Mirbach worked as a consultant and recruited salespeople and general agents for insurance firms. He had a national clientele and locally, he set up the general agent network for the Alexander Hamilton Insurance Co. and he.worked with Federal Life of Battle Creek. By the mid-1960s, he focused his practice on recruiting actuaries and placed people worldwide. - He was his wife, Janis, helped build the Birmingham Temple and were active members there. He is survived by his beloved wife, Janis Mirbach; son and daughter-in- law, Bill and Susan Mirbach of Los Alton Hills, Calif.; daughter and son- in-law, Gay and Fred Rubin of Birmingham; grandchildren, Jessica Rubin, Rebecca Rubin, Marissa Mirbach and Kenlyn Mirbach.
