Construction to renovate roughly 3,000
square feet of their Upper Straits Lake
home in West Bloomfield, they didn't
expect company president Scott Gittleman
to be included in the deal.

Chaness and Marilyn Weisberg were
the co-chairs. The donor committee
also included Karen Erlich, Pam
Bloom, Meredith Kotlarek, Marilyn

Fienman, Laurie Blinder, Sharon
Collins, Nancy Bortman, Harriet
Trager and Barbara Ben.

The Michigan Opera Theatre also
took its act onto the green for a fall
performance. The second annual Golf,
Tennis and Bridge Outing was held
also in September at Orchard Lake
Country Club. The organizers includ-
ed Harry Lomason, Shelly Cooper, Jo
Kessler, Bud Liebler, Chari Podowski,
Rick Williams, Dodie David, William
Stone and Gloria Clark.

Hillel Day School of Metropolitan
Detroit held its golf classic at the end
of September at Wabeek County Club
in Bloomfield Hills. "We couldn't have
planned a better day," said chairman
Steve Schlafer. The committee includ-
ed Jim Berger, Stacy Brodsky, Bob
Canvasser, Michael Dorman, Otto
Dube, Rob Goodman, Jay
Greenspan, Corey Haber, Art
Indianer, Natalie Newman, Julie
Schlafer and Howard Yeman.

The Michigan Humane Society
recently hosted its 125th anniversary
gala celebration at Neiman Marcus.
More than 250 animal-loving guests
attended the event, which raised more
than $60,000. Lil and Alex Erdeljan
and Denise and Bob Lutz co-chaired
the event. Designer Jay Strongwater
created a limited-edition jeweled feline
exclusively for the event. The silent
auction featured a photograph by
Linda Solomon.

But his involvement, and genuine interest
throughout the extensive job is one of the
things that impressed the Werners most.

It was a pleasant surprise to see Scott
so much," said Patty. He was genuinely
concerned and as interested in a
successful project as we were. We are
extremely impressed with the work
Gittleman did for us."
