'm on cookie overload. I've
tasted more cookies than you
can imagine. But it's for a good
cause. I was recently a "celebri-
ty judge" for the "Cookies N' Dreams"
event held at the Somerset Collection
in Troy, where 8,000 cookies were
consumed.
This fourth annual benefit of the
Michigan Chapter Friends of Camp
Mak-A-Dream raised more than
$90,000 to send children with cancer
to a camp in Montana. Harry and
Sylvia Granader of Beverly Hills,
Mich., are the founders who donated
87 acres of their Montana ranch to
make this camp possible. Cathy and
Nate Forbes and Kathy Broock
Ballard were the event co-chairs. More

and Best Cookie, Scher Delites.
While I was cookie binging, I ran
into another "celebrity judge," Judge
Stephen Cooper of the 46th District
Court in Southfield. He is excited
about the program Southfield Reads
(www.southfieldreads.org) to encour-
age literacy.
