You've never seen a bank like this! 12 MONTH CD Federation Plans Mitzvah Day Visit our Birmingham or Farmington Hills branches, Christmas Day will be Federation's Mitzvah Day, a volunteer extravaganza. Volunteers will spend between two to four hours in various social service organizations in the area so that non- Jewish staff will not have to work on Christmas Day. All volunteers will meet at the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit, Max M. Fisher Federation Building, 6735 Telegraph Road in Bloomfield Township on the morning of Dec. 25 for breakfast and orientation. Immediately following, volunteers will be carpooled to various sites to begin their mitzvot. Volunteers will have a choice of opportunities including celebrating the holiday at a home for the aged, assisting with food preparation and service, clean- ing and repairing home interiors, work- ing with meals on wheels or providing aid at a domestic violence shelter. Volunteers are asked to sign up on Federation's Web site vvww.thisisfederation.org or via a card that many in the community will receive by mail. Federation regrets that no vol- unteer applications can be taken by phone. The reservation deadline is Monday, Dec. 9. Volunteers will receive both confirmation and check-in time in the mail. Volunteer reservations are filled on a first come, first served basis.
