The Pinsker Progressive Aid Society
recently celebrated its 75th anniversary
at an event that honored the work and
commitment of Irvin Forman and
Harry Paull.
- Giving to charity is a major part of the
Pinsker philosophy. In the early years,
the group helped landsmen (fellow Jews
from Pinsk) find homes and jobs in the
U.S. During World War II, it bought a
plane for the U.S. armed forces and also
sold $2.5 million in war bonds.
Pinsker has established a medical clin-
ic in Herzliya, Israel, for soldiers and
civilians and funded an apartment at
Fleischman Residence in West
Bloomfield for an anonymous tenant.
Current officers of the organization
are Roselyn Katzman, Laura and Daniel
Hoffer, Edith and Jack Weiss, Sandy and
Arnold Oleinick, Sheldon and Ruby
Fridson and Helen and Ben Grossinger.
