NAME: Joyce Keller AGE: 51 RESIDENCE: A renovated log cabin on Watkins Lake in Waterford JOB TITLE: Executive direc- tor of JARC (She celebrates her 25th Anniversary in 2003 as JARC's executive director.) JOB DESCRIPTION: Oversees JARC, an $8 million agency that provides residential services to men and women with develop- mental disabilities, and in-home and support services to children with any disability and their families. Implements the agency vision to ensure people with disabilities are included in all of community life. Manages contracts with public funding sources; oversees the raising of $2 million from the community; supervises 200+ employees. MOST CHALLENGING ASPECT OF JOB: Maintaining our incredibly high standards of care every minute of every day, regardless of funding challenges (which are enormous of late). WHAT I ENJOY MOST: The incredible people with whom I work — my fellow staff mem- bers, and our fantastic lay lead- ers and volunteers.
