E R 2002 • STYLE AT THE JN

s editor of Style magazine and editor of Style at, the Jewish
News, I have the opportunity to visit the premier homes in
our area. One private residence always intrigued me. It
appeared to have a rusted garage and overgrown grass in
front. In 1993, I had the opportunity to meet the owners, who wel-
comed me into their home to write an article for Style. We featured
this take-your-breath-away home on the cover, calling it "Daring and
Liveable."
A few months ago, interior designer Barbara Gaber called me to
discuss a renovation project. When she described the home, I imme-
diately knew I had to see this architectural masterpiece again. With
the help of photographer Laszlo Regos, I am happy to share this
magnificent residence with you, our readers. Kudos to Barbara
Gaber who added the perfect splash of
i
color to this contemporary home for the
new owners.

Speaking about contemporary color,
meet Bloomfield Hills artist Marcia
Freedman. Enjoy her beautiful abstract oil
painting.
If it's November, it must be
Thanksgiving and time for our annual
parade in Detroit. Writer Lisa Brody inter-
viewed Susie Gross, president of The
Parade Company, which produces
America's Thanksgiving Parade on
Woodward Avenue.
This November it's unusual because Thanksgiving and
Chanukah fall in the same week. So, from Style at the Jewish News, we
wish you Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Chanukah.

Sincerely,

Carla Schwartz
