Bar/Bat Mitzvah

Zachary Cohen will be called to the
Torah as a bar mitzvah on Saturday,
Nov. 9, at
Congregation Beth
Shalom. He is the
son of Sheila and
Andy Cohen and
brother of Abby.
Proud grandpar-
ents are Judy
Cohen of Royal
Oak, Dr. Sanford
and Sandra Cohen of Cape Coral,
Fla., and Ann and Walt Johansson of
Mount Juliet, Tenn.
Zachary is an honor student at
Cranbrook Kingswood Middle
School in Bloomfield Hills, where he
is on the football and lacrosse teams.
He has enjoyed playing travel hockey
for the last eight years. His many
interests include snowboarding, in-
line skating, skateboarding, spending
time with family and friends, music,
computers, acting and travel.
Zachary's mitzvah project consisted
of visiting at the Coville Apartments
in Southfield and volunteering at
Yad Ezra in Berkley.

Aaron Howard Gunsberg will be
called to the Torah on Saturday, Nov.
9, at Congregation B'nai Moshe. He
is the son of
Leanie Gunsberg
and Larry
Gunsberg and
brother of Evan.
Proud grandpar-
ents are Renee
Gunsberg and Leo
Barris. He is also
the grandson of
the late Frieda Barris and the late
Richard Gunsberg.
Aaron attends Abbott Middle
School in West Bloomfield and
enjoys music, in-line skating, skate-
boarding and umpiring baseball. He
spends summers at Tamarack Camps.
Aaron's mitzvah activities include
working with individuals with spe-
cial needs in West Bloomfield

schools and participating in the
Jewish Family Service Fall Fix-Up
project.

Ryan Adam Kramer will become a
bar mitzvah on Saturday, Nov. 9, at
Temple Israel. His
parents are Star and
Robert Kramer; he
is the brother of
Jack, Mitchell and
Brett. Sharing in
the simchah will be
grandparents
Barbara and Ronald
Baker. He is also
the grandchild of
the late Carolyn and the late Jack
Kramer.
Ryan's hobbies and interests include
architecture, sports, board games and
mechanics. He attends Warner Middle
School in Farmington Hills and he
found it very meaningful to volunteer
at Yad Ezra in Berkley as part of his
mitzvah projects.

Michael Ernst Margolis will be
called to the Torah as a bar mitzvah
on Saturday, Nov.
9, at Adat Shalom
Synagogue. He is
the son of Lynn
and Elliot and
brother of Daniel
Margolis. His
proud grandpar-
ents are Corinne
and Harry
Margolis. He is
also the grandson of the late Helene
and Irwin Ernst.
Michael is a seventh-grade double
honor student at Hillel Day School
of Metropolitan Detroit in
Farmington Hills. In August 2002,
Michael and his travel baseball team
participated in the AABC National
World Series in Puerto Rico; the
team placed third nationally.
Michael also skis, plays ice hockey
and basketball. He participated in
community service at Adat Shalom
and did volunteer work at
Fleischman Residence in West
Bloomfield.

Michelle Jeanette Murphy will read
from the Torah on the occasion of ,
her bat mitzvah at Havdalah services
Saturday,. Nov. 9, at Temple Israel.
She is the daughter of Marci and
Leslie Murphy and sister of Kevin.
Her grandparents are Elaine Murphy
and Joe Murphy and the late Judy
and Paul Ashlevitz.
