An important message from one
of our most prominent leaders.

Max Fisher

Dear Friend:

Over the years, you have known me to be committed to the betterment of our community: the Detroit
community; the Michigan community; the American community; and especially, the Jewish community.

I have never hesitated to speak up when I think it is critical for the well being of our community,
especially when it comes to politics. I believe it is our obligation to get involved in the political process,
gather information about the candidates and make informed choices.

There is much at stake in the carhpaign for Governor this year. Michigan and the Jewish-American
community, have a choice to make. A choice between going back to the policies that drove jobs out of
Michigan in the 1980's; or moving forward with the kind of policies that have taken Michigan to new heights.

My friend Governor John Engler has enacted policies that put Michigan on the right track: cutting taxes,
reforming welfare, creating jobs. Now his Lt. Governor, Dick Posthumus, is running for Governor to
continue moving Michigan forward. I am urging you to vote for Lt. Governor Dick Posthumus.

Dick Posthumus : has made a commitment to strengthen our economy by holding the line on property

taxes, eliminating the single business tax and investing in new technologies to keep Michigan the home
of the auto industry.

Dick PoSthumus has made a commitment to make sure EVERY child in Michigan can read by the 3rd
grade. He will accomplish this by focusing more efforts on early childhood development, hiring and
training the best principals for every school in Michigan and continuing the reforms which have started
in the Detroit Public 'Schools so that no child is left behind. •

And Dick Posthumus has been a friend to the Jewish community. As Senate Majority Leader and as
Lt. Governor, Dick Posthumus has been there for our community. Dick has supported investment in our
vocational training programs, he has been a leader in grants for the Holocaust Memorial Center and he
has made a commitment to further investment in our community-based programs.

I have known Dick Posthumus for many, many years. I know him to be an honest, dedicated public
servant. He is a man of his word; a leader and a consensus builder who has always been able to work
with Republicans AND Democrats to find solutions.

Dick Posthumus is the best choice to be our next Governor—for the Jewish community, the Detroit
Community, for ALL of Michigan.

Sincerely,

Max Fisher
