late Sharon Gatien.
He is the great-
grandson of Mary
Papo of West
Bloomfield.
In support of the
State of Israel, Alex
purchased an Israel
bond with a portion of his gift dollars.
He is an eighth-grade honor student at
Haynes Bridge Middle School in
Alpharetta.

Adam Daniel Zacher was called to the
Torah as a bar mitz-
vah on Saturday,
Oct. 19, at
Congregation
Achduth Vesholom
in Fort Wayne, Ind.
He is the son of
Steven and Dr. Judy
Zacher. Sharing in
the simchah were
his brother Joshua, grandparents
Florence Goode of Bloomfield Hills,
Hannah and Alfred Zacher and family
and friends from across the country.
Adam is also the grandson of the late
Dr. Conrad Goode.
Adam is an honor student at
Canterbury Middle School in Fort
Wayne. He enjoys basketball, baseball,
tennis, golf and University of Michigan
football. For his mitzvah projects,
Adam made weekly visits to seniors in
a nursing home and volunteered to
babysit at a church during the
Christmas holiday.

Scott Andrew Israel (Shlomo
Avraham) of
Chestnut Hill,
Mass., will be bar
mitzvah at Temple
Beth Avodah in
Newton, Mass.,
Saturday, Nov. 2.
Participating in the
ceremony will be
parents Edee
Simon-Israel and
Mark Israel and sister Toby. Proud
grandparents are Nancy Simon
Feldman and Louis Feldman of
Southfield and David Israel of
Chestnut Hill. Also participating will
be uncle and aunt David Simon and
Diane Marrish-Simon of Birmingham
and cousins Zoe and Spencer.
Scott is a student at the Roxbury
Latin School in Boston. He plays soc-
cer and lacrosse and is active in Model
UN. His other interests include hik-
ing, camping and skiing.
