The Boston Camerata, founded in 1954, was associ- ated with the Boston Museum of Fine Arts for 20 years. Since 1968, Cohen has directed the ensemble's teaching, research, recording and concert activities and taken the troupe to many countries, including Israel. The mission of Camerata Mediterranea is to explore the early music repertoires of the Mediterranean basin with the help of musicians who have personal, musical and linguistic roots in the geographic area.
