Her brother Joshua and sister Michelle will share in the simchah. Her grandparents are Isadore and Pauline Markzon and Harold and Rita Goldstone. Lauren attends Orchard Lake Middle School in West Bloomfield and enjoys dancing, spending time with friends and listening to music. She spends her summers at Tamarack Camps. She also spent time at Yad Ezra in Berkley, helping out at her temple and did a fund- raiser and walk for cystic fibrosis. The activity she enjoyed most was working with autistic children at her school, which she has been doing since fourth grade. Deena Helene Ruth Martin, daughter of Michelle Martin and Michael Martin and sister of Ryan, 5, cele- brated her bat mitzvah Friday, Oct. 11, at the Shul. She is the granddaughter of Russell and Annette Meskin, Dan and Mildred Martin. Deena attends West Hills Middle School in Bloomfield Hills. Her interests include horseback riding, dancing, art and photography. She is a volunteer with the Friendship Circle for her mitzvah project. Alex Seth Paul will be called to the Torah as a bar mitzvah on Saturday, Oct. 26, at Congregation B'nai Moshe. He is the son of Elissa and Dennis Paul and brother of Zachary and Evan. Proud grandparents are Fay and Leon Siegel and Doris and Lloyd Paul. Alex is an eighth-grade honor stu- dent at Hillel Day School of Metropolitan Detroit in Farmington Hills. He enjoys skiing, playing squash, boating, refereeing in-line hockey, helping patients in a doctor's office and being with friends. The mitzvah projects Alex found mean- ingful were visiting the Fleischman Residence in West Bloomfiefd, collect- ing donations for the Red Cross Relief Fund and Mishpacha Achat, participat- ing in a JARC program, and sounding the shofar at the B'nai Moshe High Holiday family service. He is a volun- teer with Friendship Circle. Jeffrey Robert Rosenberg, son of Geri Rosenberg and William Rosenberg, will celebrate his bar mitzvah Saturday, Oct. 26, at Temple Israel. His proud grandparents are Ruth and Bernard Middleman. A student at Warner Middle School in Farmington Hills, Jeffrey enjoys soc- cer, baseball, football and golf. He also enjoys attending Hebrew school. Jeffrey felt that working at Yad Ezra in Berkley was his most significant mitzvah project. She is also the grand- daughter of the late Charles Randolph and the late Igor Schoenberger and great-granddaughter of the late Maurice Sell. Lindsey is a student at West Hills Middle School in Bloomfield Hills. She enjoys snow skiing, water skiing, dancing, pottery, computers and sum- mers at Camp Walden in Cheboygan.
