DR. JULIUS S. BARR, 86, died
Oct. 11, 2002. In 1946, Dr. Barr
was the only dentist in Romulus,
setting up practice in a building
that remained his
office for 38
years, until his
retirement in
1984.
During World
War II, Dr. Barr
was a lieutenant
junior grade in
the U.S. Navy
and served in the
South Pacific. He Dr. Julius Barr
was stationed on
LST464, the first
and only landing ship tank outfitted
as a first aid ship. For his care of
wounded soldiers, sailors and
marines under hazardous conditions, -
during the initial invasion of the
Philippines, Dr. Barr received a
commendation.
He played violin and was a mem-
ber of the Jewish Center Orchestra,
the Southfield Symphony, the
Birmingham Bloomfield Symphony,
the Dearborn Symphony and, while
on vacation in California, the Palm
Springs Symphony. Despite his bat-
tle with Alzheimer's, he continued
to play the violin.
Dr. Barr is survived by his wife,
Gladys; sons and daughters-in-law,
Benson and &wan Barr of West
Bloomfield, Eric and Karen Barr of
California, Robert and Terri Barr of
Ohio; grandchildren, Kenneth,
Michael, Rachel, Simi Bars; sister,
Sarah Black of Florida; sister-in-law
and brother-in-law, Muriel and Bert
Jacobs. Dr. Barr was the dear broth-
er-in-law of the late Bernard Black
and the late Nathan Garvin.

MARK EHRLICH, 43, of Warren,
died Oct. 14, 2002.
He is survived by his beloved
mother, Adair Ball of Warren; sister
and brother-in-law, Leslie and

brother Jay Ehrlich of Royal Oak;
sister and brother-in-law Robyn and
Thomas Schnetzler of Littleton;
stepmother, Charlene Ehrlich; step-
sister, Sheila Geiersbach; stepbroth-
