Israeli Designers

The Jewish Federation of
Metropolitan Detroit's Women's
Campaign and Education
Department teamed with the Roz
Sherm boutique for a shopping
event to support Israeli designers.
Joanne Arnovitz and Sheri Schiff
were co-chairs of the September
showing hosted at Roz & Sherm
Bloomfield Township store.
A portion of the sales of the
Israeli-made Judaica, gifts, clothing
and jewelry was donated to JFMD's
Israel Emergency Campaign.

Les Miserables

Andover High School in Bloomfield
Hills is presenting Les Miserables,
Thursday-Sunday, Nov. 21-24. Some
of the leading actors include: Mark
Adler; Justine Aronson, David
Bailey, Zach Begle, Kevin Groth,
Lauren Fink, Caitlin Klaper, Hallie

Merry-Go-Round

The Child Abuse and Neglect
Council held its annual "Merry-Go-
Round Gala" Oct. 19 at the
Somerset Inn in Troy. Julie Nelson-
Klein received the group's Circle of
Hope Award.
Sandy Bean, Suzanne Hively and
Becky Jaglois co-chaired the fund-
raising event. Some of the commit-
tee members included Karen Adams,
Bob Bean, Annabel Cohen, Elyse
Essick Foltyn, Pam Freed, Mitchell
S. Klein, Janice Morganroth,
Marcia Ross, Jackie Stein and Anne
Weiner.

Michigan Humane Society

Cooking with Style

The invitation read: "Open your
hearts and bring your appetite."
More than 70 patrons ate heartily
at a benefit last month for the Ronald
McDonald House, hosted by Designs
Unlimited in West Bloomfield.
Chef Colin Brown of the
Townsend Hotel in Birmingham
demonstrated some wonderful Asian
dishes, including sushi.

The Michigan Humane Society will
host a gala celebration in honor of
its 125th anniversary Saturday, Oct.
26, at the Neiman Marcus store in
the Somerset Collection in Troy.
Designer Jay Strongwater created
a limited-edition feline figurine for
the event. Lil and Alex Erdeljan and
Bob and Denise Lutz are the-co-
chairs.
