honors the late Lester J. Morris.
Daughter Patti Phillips said her father
had expressed a desire to support the
project. The Prentis-Morris family
decided to make a major gift "so that
his name would continue on in per-
petuity for all the young people."
Phillips, of West Bloomfield, has a
daughter who attends MSU. She
hopes the new building will attract
more Jewish students to Hillel and
that Hillel will become a central place
for them to socialize.
"My father really believed in help-
ing young people. He knew this was a
new opportunity to get some excite-
ment going at Michigan State," she
said. II
