Don Cohen, an Israel advocacy
consultant from West
Bloomfield, will deliver a lecture
on "Anti-Semitism and Anti-
Zionism in the Arab World and
Beyond" 9:30-11 a.m. Sunday,
Oct. 27, at Temple Emanu-El.

This is the first lecture of the
temple's Issues and Israel Series.

Subsequent lectures will be
delivered by Asa Shani, former
consul of economic affairs for
Israel in the United States
("Zionism and Peace-Are They
Compatible?" Nov. 17); Jeremy
Salinger, president, Labor
Zionist Alliance ("Overview of
Negotiations" Dec. 8); Rabbi
Joseph Klein, Temple Emanu-El
("Overview of Israeli Political
System" Jan. 5); and Allan Gale,
associate director of the Jewish
Community Council ("Jewish-
Arab Relations in Israel, 1880 to
1948" Feb. 16).

Honors Symes

A recent Temple Beth El dinner, honor-
ing Rabbi Daniel B. Syme and Dr. Jill
Syme, raised $1,475,000 in State of
Israel Bonds.
The honorees were the recipients of
the State of Israel Declaration of
Independence Award for their dedicated
support of Israel.

Peace: Israel From 1948 to 1968-Part
I 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 30,
at the Jewish Community Center in
Oak Park.
Produced by the Simon Wiesenthal
Institute, the film documents the
founding and defending of the state
of Israel.
All seats are $8. Group rates are
