Blumberg Home 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20. The purchase of the large, ranch-style home in Farmington Hills was made possible through a previous gift to JARC from the Louis C. Blumberg Foundation. The original, colonial-style Blumberg Home opened in Pleasant Ridge in 1982. To accommodate the needs of its aging adult consumers, JARC is gradu- ally replacing its colonial-style homes with ranch-style homes. The new Blumberg Home, purchased with pro- ceeds from the sale of the original home, is one of 20 group homes owned and operated by JARC, which are all located throughout southern Oakland County. Six women with developmental disabilities live in the new Blumberg Home. Rabbi Jonathan Berkun of Congregation Shaarey Zedek will offici- ate at the 2 p.m. dedication ceremony, which is open to the public. JARC board member Sharon Alterman is chairperson of the event.
