NFHS Wins
Tennis Region

Third-ranked North Farmington
High School won its Divison 2 state
girls tennis regional last Friday,
qualifying for the state champi-
onship tournament this weekend in
Holland.
NFHS won six of the eight
flightg', compiling 27 points to run-
ner-up Farmington's 22.
Flight winners for NFHS were 1,
2 and 3 singles: Emily Jafee, Amy
Berice and Kelly David, and 1, 2
and 4 doubles: Chrissy Dwyer-
Michelle Boothroyd, Jessica
Hoffman-Alyssa Trotsky, and Jessica
Garelick-Jordan Rogers.
Seven of the 12 NFHS varsity
members are Jewish.
In Division 3, Bloomfield Hills
Cranbrook Kingswood had 30
points to runner-up Bloomfield
Hills Andover's 23. Both teams
qualify for the state tournament.

Reggae Singles
Bash At MC

Jewish singles ages 25-45 will
have a Caribbean reggae party at
the Jewish Community Center
in West Bloomfield on Sunday,
Oct. 27.
If the weather is warm, the 7-
11 p.m. party will be held on
the deck of the outdoor swim-
ming pool and feature a concert
by the band Black Market.
If the weather is cool, the
Camp Ruth facility behind the
JCC will be converted into a
two-story Caribbean hut.
The party is jointly sponsored
by SpeedDating of Aish
HaTorah Detroit and the Jewish
Community Center of
Metropolitan Detroit.
The cost is $20, which
includes beverages. No reserva-
