Her proud great-
grandmother is
Bessie Theodore,
who lives in Ohio.
Lisa attends
Cranbrook
Kingswood Middle
School in
Bloomfield Hills,
where she is an
honor student. Some of her favorite
activities include fencing, singing,
drama, volleyball and reading. For her
mitzvah project, Lisa created and
established a Jewish-theme audiobook
collection for local children and ado-
lescents who have vision or reading
difficulties. This collection is located
at Temple Shir Shalom and is available
for use by the community.

Teddie Rebecca Olender will be called
to the Torah as a bat mitzvah on
- Saturday, Oct. 5, at
Adat Shalom
Synagogue. She is
the daughter of
Amy and Allen
Olender and sister
of Max. Sharing in
her simchah will be
proud grandparents
Diana and Morton
Tobin and Lillian
Olender. Teddie is also the grand-
daughter of the late Theodore
Olender.
Teddie is a sums cum laude student
at Detroit Country Day School in
Beverly Hills and attends Beth Achim
religious school at Adat Shalom. She
enjoys skiing, biking, camping and
playing viola. She also enjoyed playing
bingo with JARC residents, making
baby blankets, spending time with the
elderly and helping the homeless as
part of her mitzvah projects.

Erica. Celeste Rogers (Atara Gavriella)
will become a bat mitzvah on
Saturday, Oct. 5, at Temple Beth El.
Participating in the
ceremony will be
her parents, Susan
and David Rogers,
and her brother
Nicholas. Her
proud grandmother
is Evonne Rogers
of Columbus,
Ohio. She is also
the granddaughter of the late Richard
Rogers and the late Abraham and
Mildred Zeidman..
Erica is an honor student at Derby
Middle School in Birmingham. She
plays flute, swims competitively and

enjoys writing. For her mitzvah proj-
ects, Erica volunteered for the
Birmingham Youth Assistance and
Michigan Jewish AIDS Coalition. She
also conducted a book drive and col-
lected and donated several hundred
books to Winship School in northwest
Detroit, where she read to a class.

Lathan Saperstein, son of Debbe and
Leon Saperstein, will become a bar
mitzvah on
Saturday, Oct. 5, at
Temple Beth El.
His older brother is
Noah, 10I6. Proud
grandparents are
Herb and Audrey
Saperstein of
Huntington Woods
and Joe and Alice
Flaschner of
Clearwater, Fla.
Lathan is interested in sailing,
power boating, model rockets and
video games. He especially enjoys
attending Tamarack Camps. For his
mitzvah project, Lathan worked at
Yad Ezra in Berkley.

Eric Howard Wolfe will celebrate his
