Stephanie Feldman.
She is the grand-
daughter of Etka
Goldenberg and
the late Herman
Goldenberg, Edith
Farkas and the late.
Boris Farkas. She is
also the great-
granddaughter of the late Bertha
Roth.
Hannah is an eighth-grade honor
student in both Hebrew and English
studies at Hillel Day School of
Metropolitan Detroit in Farmington
Hills, where she participates on the
cross-country team. She enjoys danc-
ing, biking, skiing, and spending time
with friends and summers at Camp
Ramah in Canada. For her mitzvah
projects, Hannah participated in the
Dor L'Dor program through Hillel at
the Fleischman Residence in West
Bloomfield, the JARC program at
Hillel and as a volunteer with the
Friendship Circle.

Brandon Scott Hoffman will be called
to the Torah as a bar mitzvah on
Saturday, Oct. 5, at
Temple Israel. He
is the son of -
Jacqueline and
Robert Hoffman
and brother of
Jared. He is the
grandson of the
late Thelma and
Saul Smith and the
late Gladys and
Milton Hoffman.
Brandon is an honor student at
Orchard Lake Middle School in West
Bloomfield. He has achieved a black
belt in karate and enjoys football, bas-
ketball, soccer and computers. He
found it meaningful to volunteer at
Temple Israel's Labor Day picnic and
during High Holiday services.

Elliot Benjamin Lourie will be called
to the Torah as a
bar mitzvah on
Saturday, Oct. 5, at
Congregation B'nai
Moshe. He is the
son of Judy and Ira
Lourie and brother
of Michael. Proud
grandparents are
Helen and Klaus
Hess.
Elliot is an honor student in the

eighth grade at Warner Middle School
in Farmington Hills. He enjoys listen-
ing to music, playing basketball and
baseball, spending summers at
Tamarack Camps and being with
friends. Among his mitzvah projects
were Yad Ezra in Berkley, Gleaners in
Detroit and the Cystic Fibrosis
Walkathon.

Daniel Abraham Lubin, son of
Stephane and David Lubin, will read
from the Torah as a bar mitzvah on
Saturday, Oct. 5, at
Temple Israel dur-
ing Havdalah serv-
ices. He is the
brother of Jason
and Rachel. His
grandparents are
Ann and Gerald
Massey, Irene
Lubin and the late
Jerome Lubin.
Proud great-grandparents are Ethel
Sperry, Kathleen and Dayton
Schultheis. He is also the great-grand-
son of the late Betty Lubin.
Attending Dunckel Middle School
in Farmington Hills, where he is an
honor student, Daniel enjoys soccer,
tennis and collecting hockey cards. He
found it particularly meaningful to
deliver meals on wheels to seniors and
the homeless in Detroit.

Matthew Chase McCarney will read
from the Torah as a bar mitzvah on
Saturday, Oct. 5, at Temple Israel: He
is the son of Carla
and Dan McCarney
and brother of
Abby. His proud
grandparents are
Elaine and Rod
Faudem.
Matthew is a stu-
dent at Orchard
Lake Middle
School in West
Bloomfield. He is an avid travel hock-
ey player and enjoys basketball, video
games, the computer and Tamarack
Camps in the summer. One of his
most meaningful mitzvah projects was
volunteering at a nursery and summer
camp program.

Lisa Danielle Michaels will be called
to the Torah as a bat mitzvah on
Saturday, Oct. 5, at Temple Shir
Shalom. She is the daughter of
Melodee and Dr. Tony Michaels and
sister of Daniel. Her grandparents are
Jan and Jack Theodore of Farmington
Hills, the late Dolores Theodore,
Allen Michaels and Celia Michaels.
