America.
"You could call Max Fisher the ultimate
Jewish leader," UJC Chairman James S. Tisch
said during the dedication ceremony.
"For almost half a century, he has been one
of the most prominent figures on the national
Jewish landscape. His foresight, vision and pas-
sion are equaled only by his willingness to give
of his time as well as his means. He is a stan-
dard-bearer for Jewish philanthropy and leader-
ship.
"We are proud that our headquarters will
carry his name, for no one better than he sym-
bolizes the North American Jewish communi-
ty," Tisch continued. "It is fitting that we are
dedicating these headquarters to honor this
man who has given us so much."
