engagement of their children
Joel Howard Rubenstein and
Lauren Ashley Katz.
Joel received his medical
degree from Washington
University School of Medicine in
St. Louis, Mo., and completed
his residency in internal medi-
cine at the University of Chicago
Hospital. He is a fellow in gas-
troenterology at University of
Michigan Hospital in Ann
Arbor.
Lauren received her master's
degree in speech pathology from
Massachusetts General Hospital
Institute of Health Professions and
then was engaged in graduate work
and research at Oxford University in
England and Northwestern University
in Illinois. Lauren is pursuing a doc-

torate in learning disabilities at the
University of Michigan.
An October wedding is planned in
Houston.
