Adoption Seminars
Two adoption seminars will be
sponsored by Alliance for Adoption,
a division of Jewish Family Service.
On Sunday, Oct. 6, Alliance for
Adoption will host Shelley Sanders
of the Philadelphia Jewish Family
and Children's Service, 2:30-4:30
p.m., at the Providence Park
Conference Center in Novi.
Sanders will discuss international
adoption.
Two weeks later, Alliance for
Adoption will host its monthly
"Options For Adoption" seminar,
Thursday, Oct. 17, 7-8:30 p.m., at
the Jewish Family Service West
Bloomfield office, 6960 Orchard
Lake Rd., No. 202.
Alliance for Adoption hosts com-
munity information seminars for
people interested in international or
domestic adoption, the third
Thursday of each month.
Alliance for Adoption offers home
studies for domestic and interna-
tional adoption; child placement;
pregnancy, infertility and post-
placement counseling; and searches-
reunions. All adoption services are
non-sectarian.

Health Classes
The Health Club at the Jewish
Community Center of Metropolitan
Detroit will offer Neuromuscular
Integrative Action (NIA) to mem-
bers and the public beginning
Thursday, Oct. 3.
NIA is a combination of a num-
ber of mind-body disciplines and
movement forms, including ballet,
jazz, tai chi, tae kwon do and yoga.
The class will be offered on
Thursdays from 9:15-10:15 a.m. at
the JCC in West Bloomfield.
NIA is free to JCC Fitness and
Health Club members and available
to general members and the public
with the purchase of a group fitness
class card. Jodi Jaffe-Silverman will
be the instructor.

tivated by the sound of Klezmer
music and in 1988 she started tier
own group: Maxwell Street Klezmer
Band. The band's unique variety
involves a multitude of talents, from
jazzmen to younger klezmerphiles.
