Fisher, who cites his participation on a United Jewish Appeal mission to Israel in 1954 as a seminal experience in his life, underscored the importance of being for- ever vigilant to ensure Israel's existence and survival. After her comments, Sherman unveiled a plaque inscribed with a quote from her father in the headquarters now bearing his name. "We are all trustees of our Jewish heritage," the plaque reads, "with an obligation to cherish it, improve it and guard its future."
