HERMAN "HY" PRITZ, 92, of Southfield,
died Sept. 22, 2002. Born in Cincinnati,
Ohio, Mr. Pritz was a patent draftsman.
Through jokes and pantomime acts, he was a
performer in various little dramatic theater
parts as well as other performances for veter-
ans' hospitals and B'nai B'rith groups. He also
had his own band, which played for weddings
and bar mitzvahs. He often wrote poetry for
his wife.
Mr. Pritz is survived by his wife of 57 years,
Gertrude Prim sons and daughters-in-law,
Kenneth and Mimi Prim of Oak Park, Arthur
and Lori Pritz of Hollywood, Calif.; sisters,
Sylvia Buchalter of Southfield, Goldie
Fogelman of Southfield; grandchildren, Julie
Love, Steven Pritz, Jeffrey Pritz; great-grand-
children, Haley Jordan, Corey.

Interment at Mat Shalom Memorial Park.

owner of Shenandoah Golf Course and a
World War II Army veteran. He was also the
former owner of Roth Brothers Market in
Detroit and Wyandotte Market in Wyandotte,
a member of Sholem Aleichim Institute, B'nai
Kith and the Jewish War Veterans.
Mr. Roth is survived by his wife of 51 years,
Rose Roth; sons and daughters-in-law, David
and Linda Roth of West Bloomfield, Kenneth
and Dr. Amy Roth of Northville; daughter
and son-in-law, Lisa and Bruce Rotfeld of
Philadelphia; grandchildren, Kimberly
Rotfeld, Jon Rotfeld, Joseph Roth, Justin

WILLIAM A. SCHWARTZ, 63, of Atlanta,
Ga., died Sept. 9, 2002. A native Detroiter,
Mr. Schwartz graduated from Wayne State
University and made his career in the media
business. He was the former president of Cox
Broadcasting, became president of Cannell
Communications and First Media Televis
ion and headed
Capital Cable.
Mr. Schwartz was a civic leader and philan-
thropist in theAtlanta area, where he resided
with his wife of 39 years, Marlene, and his
three children. He was a long-time supporter
of the Atlanta Ballet and the Atlanta Jewish
Federation and helped open the Bremen
Jewish Heritage Museum in Atlanta. After

ROSE THOMPSON, 77, former Detroiter
of Norco, Calif, died. Aug. 18, 2002. She was
a member of the friends of the Library and
the Lions Club in Norco.
Mrs. Thompson is survived by her sisters

Sept. 17, 2002. He was a warehouse executive
